A collective imagination which forms a network and seeks transformation, that begins to understand that the creative process is a space of decisions, of choices and of power, and that it is through power that we create symbolic meanings that makes sense of the world.
By strolling through this interactive and expressive space-time, we are able not only to project solidarity and beauty, but also to promote micro-revolutions, to decolonize thought and to hack into the eyes of those who see us. And what would it be to exercise this creative power throughout all the different black cultures of the world, using Afro-Brazilian cultures and its motions as inspiration? How to create exercises towards freedom that create new memories and narrate, today, who we will become, tomorrow, using our ancestrality through technology?
AfroTranscendence is the fruit of this disquietude, a desire built at light speed. Immersed in this experience for 3 days at Red Bull Station, we will be able to meet, to question, to shake things up, to experiment, to reassemble, to overcome. To Transcend.
All that wiil be said now is a figment of your imagination.
A collective imagination that drives an action, a construction,
To act, imagine, dream, draw.
They are marks loose on skin, in a world that shares memories, images, desires.
This trembling body, shivering with affection, builds worlds and moves to transform.
What is outlined through the meeting of a people whose legacy is separation?
AfroTranscendence is a bridge, a route, a path, a way.
A movement created by a multitude that is now in motion.
Like a spiderweb, we connect the dots. At the speed of light.
We are a rite of passage, a community of sentiment. Creative energy that shimmers, shivers, and hacks the gaze of those who watch: a decolonizing device of thought.
A tangled cluster that goes beyond representation and becomes a political body, an ongoing social project.
AfroTranscendence is not a hypothesis, it is effect. It is those in the thick of it producing meaning by taking over a speech without a mediator.
We must be self-spoken. To hear the language of another is to relate.
Now, we have arrived at the other side of the river, and from here there is only one way: to move with the water, because a drop just fell.
AfroTranscendence is Creation. Re-invention of space-time, of a fracture and of a place that is not concerned with results. We are a hug with nothing to give.
It is not the epic battle cry against a threat. It is a moment of respite, one step after another. It is not pain, but power. It manifests ancestrality, speaking through technology and creating new memories that will dictate now who we will become then. In a future yet to come.
Imagination operating transformations. The creative process as a place of empowerment, of decision and of choice.
Exercises towards freedom. An intensive and expressive walk through the enchanted, where it is possible to question, shake, smell, feel, reassemble, switch places, think the unpredictable, overcome and beyond.
We are what your imagination created from what we achieved together: the ability to dream, imagine and to make it exist now.
